First of Cebu’s many islands that I finally got to visit – Bantayan island in the north!
It takes 3 hours by land plus a 1 hour ferry ride from the city to get here. It takes some effort but is definitely worth it if you want some peace and quiet. Wish I could have stayed longer to maximize the trip!
From afar, the island’s perfectly white sand stands out from the clear blue sea.We checked in at Anika’s Resort in Sta. Fe, just walking distance from the port. I’d usually pack activities in an itinerary, but since we were just staying for the weekend, our main activity was to beach bum. Haha! It turned out to be an R&R trip because we didn’t even bother to leave the resort. We spent the weekend eating our hearts out, sharing life updates and enjoying each other’s company along with the amazing view. Sometimes, it doesn’t have to be complicated to have a good time. 🙂
Bantayan has the widest stretch of fine white sand I’ve seen so far. The water’s still shallow even if it’s quite far from the shore.
The place is not as packed as the usual favorites like Boracay. I loved how it was so peaceful and calming.
Aside from the bent coconut trees, there was no clue that this island was destroyed by Typhoon Haiyan in 2013. It’s definitely back on its feet.
Missing these girls and Manila. But hey, there’s more to explore in Cebu!
